After 40 arduous laps, Andy Jankowiak of Tonawanda, NY brings home his 4th Gambler's Classic first place trophy - tying the current record.
From the official blog post from Dirt Track Digest; "The race was filled with intense duels and shifting fortunes, especially notable after Jankowiak had earlier lost ground on a restart. Jankowiak said, “When I dropped back to fourth around halfway, I thought, what the hell, I screwed up my race. I didn’t care anymore. I kind of bided my time in lapped traffic, and kept the leaders in sight. I kind of thought something might happen between the two guys in front of me. And it did."
Race leader Ryan Flores and second place Tanner VanDoren ended up in a tangle; and more importantly, Andy saw his golden opportunity to take first and ultimately leave with a W.
Racers Kyle Lick and Briggs Danner finished second and third, respectively.
